JME News

  • JME successfully reached a “handshake” settlement in a pending subchapter v bankruptcy before the Southern District of Florida. The settlement is with the debtor’s largest creditors and will pave the path forward for the bankruptcy exit.
  • JME conducted a two day trial on behalf of their client, a subchapter v debtor. The issue before the court was whether the debtor, as the tenant, has a valid leasehold interest subject to assumption and assignment. Due to scheduling constraints the trial was not concluded and the parties are coming back on the matter.
  • Daniel Etlinger attended a hearing on behalf of the firm’s client, a subchapter v debtor in the field of providing ambulatory services. The team successfully sought approval of two professionals who will assist with the ongoing bankruptcy case.
  • The firm filed a notice of occurrence of effective date for one of its subchapter v debtors. The notice is the next step in the debtor’s post confirmation process towards wrapping up its bankruptcy efforts.
